Glass with and without safety film, illustrating fragment retention

Glass safety film is one of the few premium home and commercial upgrades where the maths is genuinely simple — once someone is willing to show it to you. VitraGuard publishes its rates because price transparency is, frankly, rare in this market, and we think it should be the starting point of the conversation rather than the thing you have to extract.

The short answer

VitraGuard glass safety film is priced in three parts:

ComponentRate (pre-VAT)
Film supply (delivery included)AED 300 per linear metre
Installation — up to 10 mAED 400 per metre
Installation — 11 to 20 mAED 280 per metre
Installation — over 20 mCustom quote
UAE VAT5% on the subtotal

Film is sold per linear metre, so there is no full-roll minimum — you pay for what your glass actually needs. A full roll is 30 metres; orders of a full roll or more, like installations over 20 metres, move to a tailored quote so we can confirm logistics and access on site.

A worked example

Say a project works out to roughly 8 linear metres of film once measured. The estimate looks like this:

  • Film supply: 8 m × AED 300 = AED 2,400
  • Installation (≤ 10 m tier): 8 m × AED 400 = AED 3,200
  • Subtotal: AED 5,600
  • VAT at 5%: AED 280
  • Estimated total: AED 5,880

This is illustrative — the linear metres for your project are confirmed by a quick site survey, because real-world glass involves frame conditions, access, and how panes are grouped. But the rates above are the rates, and the calculator uses exactly the same logic.

Why "cheap" film usually costs more

It is always possible to find a lower number. The difference tends to show up in the things you cannot see on day one: the grade of film, how carefully it is fitted around edges, and whether it stays clear and bonded over years in Dubai's heat and sun. A poorly fitted film that lifts, hazes, or peels is not a saving — it is the same job done twice.

That is why our installation is a priced line item rather than an afterthought. Professional fitting is what makes the difference between film that disappears into your glass and film you notice every day.

What the price does — and does not — include

The rates above cover the 12-mil safety film and its professional installation. They are for a safety product: the film is designed to help hold glass fragments together if a pane breaks. It is not priced or sold as a solar, heat-rejection, or security/anti-intrusion product — if those are your goals, tell us, and we will be straight with you about what is and isn't a fit.

Cost questions, answered

Is there a minimum order for safety film?
No. Film is sold per linear metre, so there is no full-roll minimum. A full roll is 30 metres; orders of a full roll or more, and installations over 20 metres, are handled as a custom quote.
Does the price include VAT?
The headline rates are pre-VAT. 5% UAE VAT is added on top of the subtotal, exactly as our cost calculator shows.
Why do you need a site survey if pricing is fixed?
The rates are fixed, but the number of linear metres your glass needs isn't obvious from a floor plan — frame condition, access, and how panes are grouped all matter. A short survey confirms the metres so the quote is accurate, not optimistic.
