Dubai skyline through glass on a bright day

In Dubai's sun, it is natural to hope a single film will do everything — hold glass together and cut the heat. We would rather be straight with you than imply more than the product does.

The short, honest answer

VitraGuard's 12-mil film is a safety film. Its job is to help hold glass fragments together if a pane breaks. We do not currently publish heat-rejection or UV figures for it, and you should not choose it as a way to reduce heat, glare, or cooling costs. If a company tells you a basic safety film will noticeably cool your rooms, treat that with caution.

Why heat control is a different product

Reducing solar heat is the job of a solar / heat-control film — a different category engineered with specific coatings and measured by heat-rejection, glare-reduction, and UV-rejection percentages drawn from the film's own data sheet. Those are real, verifiable numbers when they come from a genuine solar product. A safety film is simply not built or rated for that purpose, so quoting heat figures for it would be misleading.

What this means for your decision

  • Main goal is glass safety (fragment retention near family or high-traffic glass)? A safety film fits.
  • Main goal is cutting heat or glare? That is a solar-control product — a different specification.
  • Want both? Tell us, and we'll be honest about what we do and don't currently offer rather than stretching one product to cover both.

Tell us your real goal

Safety, heat, glare, or privacy — say what matters most and we'll give you an honest answer, not a one-size-fits-all pitch.

Our commitment

We only make claims we can stand behind. Until we publish verified performance data for a product, we won't imply it. That is why this page exists at all — because an honest "no, that's a different product" is more useful to you than a vague "yes, sort of."

Common questions

Will safety film cool down my rooms?
You should not expect a safety film to meaningfully reduce heat. Cutting solar heat is the job of a dedicated solar / heat-control film, which is a different product category.
Does it block UV?
We do not currently publish UV figures for the 12-mil safety film, so we won't claim a specific level. If UV reduction is your priority, tell us and we'll advise honestly.
Do you sell solar / heat-control film?
Our current focus is glass safety film. If heat control is your main goal, contact us and we'll be straight about what we can and cannot offer today.
